I’ve been waiting until just the right time to share this peachy matcha with you all. It’s now the second week of July and those sweet summer peaches are finally beginning to taste delicious. Expect lots of peach recipes to come!

I first saw this drink at Starbucks as part of their secret menu. Peach lemonade swirled with matcha, then mixed with creamy milk. I think they use coconut milk. It looked and sounded so yummy and refreshing for summertime, I knew I had to do my best to recreate it.

I’m curious, do you drink Starbucks? Have you seen this drink? Have you had it?

A couple of weeks ago, I spent the day recreating my version of the drink. By the end of the day, I was beyond excited to share the recipe!!

Here are the details

Step 1: make the peach lemonade

This is what I call cheater peach lemonade, but it’s so delicious. And so simple, which was the idea.

Peach jam blended with fresh lemonade and water. The jam is sweet, so blending it with fresh lemon juice and water is all you need to do. Nothing fancy, no cooking, and really quick. Plus, it’s very peachy, which is what we want!

Step 2: make the matcha

Make sure you use high-quality matcha, then blend it with hot water. If you like a sweet matcha, add a touch of honey too. You can use a handheld whisk, a blender, a matcha whisk, or even just a fork. Do your best to get it really blended.

Then, mix the matcha with ice water.

Step 3: mix the latte

I love to use crushed ice, and always a fun glass. Add the matcha, then pour over the peach lemonade.

Now the milk. This makes it creamy and delicious. I prefer to use raw milk, goat milk is what we drink. Or if you want a plant-based option, use unsweetened coconut milk. delish too.

Swirl the layers together and add a fresh peach slice or two if you’d enjoy that.

If you want fancy

Make ice cubes! For this drink, I would do peach cubes or peach jam frozen into lemon juice (lemon juice and water, mixed). That would be so delicious and pretty!

Another fun idea is to make cubes with fresh berries or edible flowers in water – or use milk. You can also make green matcha cubes, which would be fun too.

The homemade cubes keep the drink ice-cold and creamy. Have fun with the ice!

    1. Hi Colleen,
Amazing!! Love to hear that this recipe turned out well for you, thanks for making it and Happy Monday! xT

  1. Not sure how to make this without the milk curdling …. I used coconut milk and now I got bits in my latte 🙁

    1. Hi Jenni,
So sorry to hear this! Did you give the coconut milk a good mix? There’s really no reason for it to be curdling for you! Let me know how I can help! xx

    2. I can’t wait to try this!! But have to know – where did you get those glasses? I NEED them in my life!

  2. Can anyone who’s tried this recipe let me know how lemonade and milk taste together? I’ve never seen that combination before! I feel like the acidity of the lemonade might cause the milk to curdle? I’d love to know others’ experience before I head out and buy the ingredients!

    1. Hi Kate,
I tested this recipe several times before sharing and never had that issue:) Let me know if you give the recipe a try, I hope you love it! xT

      1. But you can see where it’s curdling in the pictures and in your Instagram stories? I think this is a pretty commonly known scientific reaction, but here’s what I get from a quick google:

“When lemon juice is added to milk it curdles, a process of coagulation. The pH of milk is 6.8 and that of lemon is 3.5 due to the presence of citric acid. As the pH of the milk drops upon adding lemon, the milk curdles i.e the casein protein molecules attract one another forming curdles.”

          1. Her recipe says coconut milk but she actually made hers with raw goats milk if you read the blog post.

        1. Agreed – the idea of this drink in theory seems good but the milk is clearly curdling and that is not appetizing

    2. 5 stars
They serve a Special Treat minus the matcha at Chick-fil-A! They use their famous lemonade and peach tea with their vanilla ice dream. No, the lemonade dairy mixture doesn’t cause curdling. I would probably freeze coconut milk if I didn’t use ice cream as a base.

  3. 5 stars
This is a lovely drink to be had when very hot. Almond milk works fine with the matcha that we had. Thank you for sharing.
